NORTH KOREA

In 1993, North Korea issued it’s first and, to-date, only Coelacanth stamp.
The Coelacanth stamp was part of a set of six fish stamps issued in single units and se-tenant pair miniature sheets.

IVORY COAST

Although situated on the Gulf Of Guinea in West Africa, no coelacanths have, as yet, been recorded along this coastline. This is the only stamp of a coelacanth issued by this country.

GUYANA

Exploring The Deep Oceans

No coelacanths have, as yet, been discovered off this coast or anywhere along the coastline of South America.
A full sheet of 15 values was issued by Guyana in 1996 featuring a coelacanth and a goblin shark on the top left-hand corner stamp.This sheetlet was designed by Ian Macleur in 1995.

A sheet of 9 values was issued by Guyana in 1997 featuring a fossil coelacanth on the bottom right-hand corner.


Eudimorphodon

A sheet of 12 stamps were issued by Guyana in 1996 featuring a fossil coelacanth.

MOZAMBIQUE

EXPO’98 - OCEAN LISBON - 22 May 1998

A single female coelacanth carrying 26 fully formed near-term pups was caught in a trawl net near Pebane in central Mozambique in August 1991. The Mozambique coelacanth is the first off Mozambique and with the 1938 Chalumna specimen, only the second to be recorded from the shore of the African mainland and also the second to be caught In a trawl net. The coelacanth, which measured 179 cm in length and 98 kg in weight, is one of the largest coelacanths known, exceeded only by the 180 cm, 95 kg specimen caught off Grand Comoro in 1960. The Mozambique specimen confirms the trend that all specimens greater than 165 cm are females.

THE GAMBIA

ENDAGERED SPECIES OF THE WORLD

No coelacanths have, as yet, been recorded along this African countries coastline. This is the first and only stamp of a coelacanth issued by this country to date. This stamp was part of the “ENDAGERED SPECIES OF THE WORLD” sheetlet of 20 stamps , issued to commemorate the HONG KONG ‘97 STAMP EXHIBITION which was held from the 12 - 16 February, 1997.

TURKS & CAICOS ISLANDS

This coelacanth miniature sheet was issued by these islands in celebration of the APS STAMPSHOW '97, held from the 21 - 24 August 1997.
The stamp also features the submercible "JAGO" used by Prof. Hans Fricke to film the first ever living coelacanth off the Comore Islands and to search for the possible habitation of coelacanths off the South African coast.

KUWAIT

SILVER JUBILEE of the Educational Science Museum

No coelacanths have, as yet, been discovered off this coast.
A miniature sheet was issued by Kuwait in 1997 featuring a coelacanth to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of the Educational Science Museum (1972 - 1997).

ABCHASIA

Pre-Historic Animal Series

No coelacanths have, as yet, been discovered off this coast.
A miniature sheet was issued by Abchasia in 1998 featuring a coelacanth together with 5 other pre-historic animals.

LIBERIA

UNESCO I.Y.O.Series

No coelacanths have, as yet, been discovered off this coast.
A stamp was issued by Liberia in 1998 featuring a coelacanth as part of a sheetlet of 9 stamps. The inscription on the stamp reads "Twilight and Deep Seafish".
